The University of São Paulo and the School of Communications and Arts – ECA

With more than 90,000 students, the University of São Paulo is one of the most important universities in Brazil and one of the more respected teaching and research institutions of Latin America and the world. The research conducted at USP corresponds to 30% of all the Brazilian scientific production. In 2013 it was ranked for the third time as the best university in Latin America, in the QS Latin University Ranking, one of the most prestigious of the world. It is placed 15th in the Webometrics ranking (2012) and 74th by the Higher Information Evaluation & Accreditation Council of Taiwan (2010). It is among the top 70 of 100 universities with the best reputation in the world, in accordance with the 2012 World Reputation Ranking, prepared by The Times Higher Education.

Located within the main university campus in the city of São Paulo, Butantã neighbourhood, the School of Communications and Arts (ECA) is today one of the more respected faculties of communication in the country. With a high level post-graduate program in Communication Sciences, it is placed 11th in the world ranking for communication and media, behind universities like Stanford, Columbia and Yale, and in front of institutions like the University of New York and of Chicago.
